Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore the effects gossypin on matrix metalloproteinases -2 (MMP-2) and MMP-9 genes in prostate cancer cells. Materials Methods: PC3 cells were grown culture treated with three different concentrations (25-50-100 µg/ml) cisplatin (50 µM) as a positive control. First, RNA isolation was performed. Then, cDNA synthesis performed RT-PCR used evaluate mRNA expression levels MMP-2 genes.Results: Gossypin decreased concentration-dependent manner. Three reduced gene. While fold change value gene 0.3482 ± 0.040 100 µg/ml group, it 1.007 0.1425 control group. In addition, 50 level 0.4740 0.038 administered while 1.009 0.1687 There correlation between expressions genes.Conclusion: According results obtained, seen that reduces other genetic epigenetic mechanisms need be investigated reveal anti-cancer.
